For a really easy hike amidst towering native trees and through a path alongside native shrubs, a walk along the Kalopa Nature Trail is ideal.
This hike can get muddy and mosquito-filled, so proper attire, footwear, and insect repellent is a must.
The hike itself was relaxing and also very informative. Plants are identified with signs along the path, which is very easy to follow.
It was neat to see many native plants I was unfamiliar with - I always love learning about and seeing new things.
It's a quick .7 mile loop - very kid-friendly, and it was really nice to be out in nature, even if just for a little while.
There are no restrooms by the trail, but you can find them by the camping lot just before the Nature Trail parking lot.
