Visit Hawai`i Island: Honomu Goat Dairy

We were on the way to `Akaka Falls when we passed the "Free Goat Therapy" sign.  We immediately turned around and just had to take advantage of this freebie at Honomu Goat Dairy.

As soon as we parked we were greeted by goats, and then I decided to check out the tiny shop, and two-week old babies happened to be inside in a pen.

They were the cutest!

The employee was so kind and informative, telling us about the goats and how to pet them.

There is an outdoor area where you could pet even more goats!

There is no charge to pet the goats, but they do sell food for the goats if you want to feed them.

They also sell food for humans!

I've had their Korean Missile Crisis Chevache Fresh Cheese before and loved it, so I got that again, along with the Garlic and Herb variety.  The Korean Missile Crisis flavor has some nice heat to it, and the goat milk is very mild.

I also bought some Goat Milk Fudge, which they jazzed up with chocolate chips and sprinkles.  It was rich and yummy!

They also sell a few other locally-made products and gifts.

If you're in the area, definitely stop by Honomu Goat Dairy for some free goat therapy!
