Visit Maui: Havens

Over the pandemic, Chef Zach Sato opened up Havens, home to smash burgers, saimin, and more.  It has since become a go-to comfort food spot for many, and the success has resulted in two food truck spots in Kahului and Wailuku.

I went to the original spot in Kihei, located in the Shell gas station convenience store.
Saimin

Even though it was a really hot day on Maui, I just had to get the saimin.  The dashi bone broth was good, and I loved the thick, chewy noodles and the roast pork.
Crazy Tots
I loved the tots, which were topped with furikake, kim chee, and a kim chee aioli.  It had the perfect amount of heat.

Paniolo Burger

I don't eat burgers very often, but I was so tempted to get a piece of the Paniolo Burger.  It looked amazing - topped with bacon, onion rings, cheddar, and BBQ sauce.

There are a few seats so you can enjoy your food in air-conditioned comfort.

Looking forward to trying more items on the menu!
