Visit Texas: Louie Mueller Barbecue

On the way back to Austin one day, we stopped in Taylor to try James Beard Foundation Award-Winning Louie Mueller Barbecue.

The line was long, and eventually went out the door, but it moved quickly.

Beef Ribs and Brisket

Coleslaw

Potato Salad

Sausage (Original and Jalapeno)

Mac and Cheese

Pinto Beans

Frito Pie

The Beef Ribs are pricey, but get it.  It's the best Beef Ribs I've ever tasted in my life.  So tender, and so delicious!

The Brisket and Sausages were great too, and the Frito Pie is a must!  Made with Fritos, chopped brisket, pinto beans, and cheddar, it's a meal in itself!

As for the sides - get them all if you can (available in single servings, pints, or quarts).  If you can only pick one, I'd go with the coleslaw, but you really can't go wrong with any of the sides.

There are no plates (you eat on pieces of paper), which makes the experience even more fun.

The employees were very friendly, and they are super helpful if you can't decide on what to order.

Go early - they do run out of certain items as the day goes on!
