Visit Hilo: Fried Chicken at J.Hara Store

I've heard about J.Hara Store, and always thought it was a sporting goods store, but it turns out to be so much more!

Billed as a one-stop-shop, J.Hara Store offers fishing and hunting gear, groceries, household necessities, and even food to go!

When @catherinetothfox posted a pic of the Fried Chicken at J.Hara Store, I did some digging and found out it is quite a very popular item, so of course I had to try.

Fried Chicken
The golden Fried Chicken was indeed quite good!  It was crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside.  Plates come with either macaroni salad or kim chee.

Garlic Fries

Hamburger Steak

My friend ordered the Hamburger Steak, and did not enjoy it at all. The pre-made patties did not taste good according to my friend (who happens to be a chef, so I trust his judgment), and he ended up eating just the Fried Chicken.

Definitely stick with the Fried Chicken if you're buying a plate lunch at J.Hara Store.
