Dinner at Orchids at Halekulani

Orchids at Halekulani is such a special place to dine.  The service is fantastic, the view is spectacular, and the food is delicious.

The restaurant recently re-opened after having been closed since April of last year, and the family and I went for dinner over the weekend.

Many familiar dishes are still on the menu, however, they now offer a variety of prix-fixe options.

We decided to order a la carte:

Risotto ai Funghi

I had the Risotto ai Funghi - my favorite dish at Orchids.  The risotto is perfectly cooked, and white truffle oil elevates the entire dish, while Hudson Valley Foie Gras adds a decadent richness.

Gamberoni Cappesante

New York Strip

Prime Tenderloin Filet

Truffle Parmesan Fries

Another one of my go-tos is Truffle Parmesan Fries.  Even after eating nearly an entire bowl of risotto, I could not stop eating these addicting fries!
Pasta and Cheese Sauce

There is currently no official kids menu, but the restaurant can make pasta dishes for the little ones (like they did for my youngest son).

As for dessert, the Signature Coconut Cake is a must.

Halekulani's Signature Coconut Cake

It is so moist and fluffy, with just enough sweetness from the coconut.

The Tropics

The Tropics consisted of a white chocolate mousse with calamansi lychee gelee, and pineapple sponge cake.
Dark Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Bar

The Dark Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Bar came with a scoop of Salted Caramel Gelato.  This was my fave of the two desserts.

Service was excellent, as usual, and I am so glad Orchids has re-opened!
