STRIPSTEAK Waikiki recently restarted its popular happy hour, with the restaurant revising its business hours to 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  As of September 15, STRIPSTEAK Waikiki now offers a robust menu of specially-priced bites and beverages available exclusively at the bar for the first hour, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m..  There is also a two-course sunset dinner featuring a temaki sushi and choice of steak or fish offered the hour before the dining opens for regular service at 5:00 p.m.

The restaurant decided to adjust its operating hours to take the last reservation at 9:00 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. as done previously in response to the new city & county emergency order cutting off alcohol service at 10:00 p.m., which went into effect on September 13, 2021.  Anticipating that patrons may prefer to start dining earlier, STRIPSTEAK Waikiki is offering the following specially-priced appetizers, including sushi:

·       Truffle Duck Fat Fries ($7) with parmesan, herbs, truffle aioli

·       Cucumber & Watermelon ($7) topped with golden garlic, Szechuan chili vinaigrette

·       STRIPSTEAK Edamame ($6) accented with sake beurre blanc, wasabi salt, tobiko

·       Chilled Lobster Taco ($6 per piece) featuring Kona lobster, pineapple, and avocado

·       “Popcorn” Shrimp Tempura ($12) tossed in a gochujang-yuzu aioli

·       Crab Rangoon ($11) served with crispy shrimp chips

·       Spicy Tuna Hand Roll ($6)

·       Negihama Hand Roll ($6)

·       Spicy Salmon Hand Roll ($6)

·       California Hand Roll ($6)

·       Maguro, or big eye tuna, nigiri ($4 per piece) or sashimi ($10 for two pieces)

·       Sake, or king salmon, nigiri ($5 per piece) or sashimi ($10 for two pieces)

·       Kampachi, or amberjack ($4 per piece) or sashimi ($8 for two pieces)

For heartier appetites, a beef “Huli Huli” Burger and Garlic Herb Fries ($21) is served with spicy onions, American cheese, pickle, and a secret sauce.  Also making its return is the STRIPSTEAK Sunset Supper, a two-course dinner which includes a Spicy Tuna Hand Roll and choice of a 10-ounce Prime New York steak ($49) plated with whipped potato and sauteed spinach, or Macadamia Nut-Crusted Mahi Mahi ($42) plated with baby bok choy, shiitake mushroom, and a scallion-beurre blanc.

A selection of libations features three different original cocktails for $9, including:

·       Hi-Tide – whiskey, lemon, club soda

·       Lo-Tide – cucumber-infused vodka, lemon, ginger

·       Beach & Breaker – gin, Kai shochu, lemon, and vanilla

Other drink specials are beer (Miller “High Life,” Heineken, and Waikiki Brewing Company “Hana Hou” Hefeweizen) for $5, the sommelier’s choice of white, red, or sparkling wine for $9, Miyasaka “Sake Matinee” sake for $9, and “Beer & a Shot” flights, which include the Pau Hana (Miller “High Life” and shot of Campo Bravo Tequila Plata) and Da Kine (Heineken and a shot of Conciere Bourbon) for $10 per set.

“We thought this would be an ideal time to resume our happy hour, which filled up our bar counters prior to the pandemic,” shares Chris Burman, general manager.  “Now that we have a new executive chef and revamped menu, we wanted to introduce some innovative concepts, while also bringing back the tried and true favorites.”

Located on the International Market Place’s third-level Grand Lanai at 2330 Kalākaua Avenue, STRIPSTEAK Waikiki serves dinner Wednesday through Sundayfrom 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The restaurant offers expansive indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations are highly recommended. Validated self-parking is available at the International Market Place.
