Visit Hilo: WSW Steakhouse

WSW Steakhouse just recently opened up in the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Although they specialize in Whiskey, Steak, and Wine, I instead partook in other items:

Truffle Parmesan Fries

The Truffle Parmesan Fries were addicting.  The fries were crisp, and the truffle oil drizzle made them hard to stop eating.

Misoyaki Butterfish

I thought the butterfish was really tasty!

Local Ali`i Mushrooms

WSW Slow Roasted Prime Rib

My friend had the prime rib.  I honestly never saw a prime rib grilled before.  He ordered the mushrooms as a side, but ended up returning them because, to put it nicely, they weren't the freshest (my friend is a well-known, well-respected chef, so I trusted his statement).

Our server was very friendly and took the mushrooms off our bill.

Mango Cheesecake

For dessert, I had the Mango Cheesecake.  It was a Japanese-Style Cheesecake, so it wasn't too dense, and the mango was very light (a few pieces was mixed in).  I thought it was really good.

WSW Steakhouse is unlike any other spot in Hilo.  For the meat-loving, steak- and prime rib-eating demographic, this is a welcome addition.  I thought the prices were very reasonable, and the service was really good
