Chocolate Chip + Kaki Mochi Cookies

I love sweet and salty combos, so I recently decided to make these Chocolate Chip + Kaki Mochi Cookies!

No matter what you call them (kaki mochi, mochi crunch, arare, etc.) - they add a nice salty flavor to any chocolate chip cookie!

Chocolate Chip + Kaki Mochi  Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c kaki mochi
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla.
  • In a separate medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Slowly stir the flour mixture into the sugar mixture.
  • Mix in chocolate chips and kaki mochi.
  • Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake approximately 10 to 13 minutes.
