Akira Japanese Restaurant

To celebrate our anniversary, I ordered take-out from Akira Japanese Restaurant.  They have been offering take-out throughout the pandemic and continue to offer take-out only even though dining in is allowed again.

I called in my order an hour ahead of time, because I wanted to order the Akira Tasting Plate (pictured below).  It comes a little bit of everything, including miso soup, assorted nigiri and sashimi, beef tataki, abalone tataki, unagi, soft shell crab.  This is a seriously good deal at only $48.

Here's a closer look at the Tasting Plate. Highly recommend!

I also ordered the Special Bento, which came with chirashi, miso butterfish, karaage chicken, beef tataki, agedashi tofu, eggplant yuzu miso, tamagoyaki, and hajikami ginger.  I felt this was also a  great deal at $18.50.

I thought the food was really good, considering it was take-out!  Although the food was not hot (and the fried items were not crispy), I didn't mind it at all, and it's to be expected when doing take-out.

If you're looking for authentic Japanese food take-out, check out Akira Japanese Restaurant!

p.s. the parking lot is accessible via Young Street (look for the 1150 Young Street sign).
