Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies are my fave to bake and eat.  I decided to try a Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie recipe - because the more chocolate, the better, right?

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 c flour
  • 3 T cocoa powder
  • 1 t baking powder
  • ½ t baking soda
  • ½ t salt
  • ½ t ground cinnamon
  • ½ c butter, softened
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • ½ c white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ c rolled oats
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F 
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars.  
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla. 
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.  
  • Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto parchment-lined cookie sheets,.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
