Adela's Country Eatery

Adela's Country Eatery quietly opened in Kaneohe earlier this year. Although they do not advertise and haven't been put on the map by social media just yet, if you look on Yelp, they have quite a following with 90 reviews and an average rating of 5 stars.

They are located on the corner of Kamehameha Highway and Lilipuna Road/Kahuhipa Street.

When you walk inside, you are greeted by a refrigerated case full of desserts!

Millie, one of the owners, happily greets you, and will answer any questions you have on the menu.

Since the hubby is a big fan of fried chicken, we had to try it. We ordered 1/2 a chicken with garlic butter dipping sauce. I really liked the chicken - it was made to order so it was hot and crispy.  It came with housemade coleslaw, french fries and fried mozzarella sticks.

We also tried the housemade ulu (breadfruit) pasta with garlic sauce (the sauce is not on the menu but it's there and highly recommended with this pasta). It reminded me of the garlic noodles from Crustaceans (if you know, you know!) - I highly recommend this pasta dish if you love noodles and garlic!!

For dessert, because my boys love anything jello, we tried the jello cheesecake. Why is it slightly green? Because the cheesecake part is lime-flavored - very refreshing!

Adela's is one of those places that you have to try more than once, because there are so many things on the menu that look good. I'll be back to try the braised short ribs, beef brisket, fried rice, and housemade ramen (they traveled to Hokkaido to learn how to make ramen noodles and soup, so I have high expectations for their ramen!). Stay tuned for an update!

TAKE-OUT ONLY.
