Momcation at the Fairmont Kea Lani

Gem and I have been taking Momcations for a while now although we never called it that, but when Nat joined us for the first time it seemed appropriate to designate our girls’ getaway as Hawaii Mom Blog’s first-ever Momcation.  And being such a special occasion, we were over the moon excited to be hosted in a three-bedroom villa at Maui’s Fairmont Kea Lani, Hawaii’s only all-suite and villa resort.  Talk about extraordinary!  The Fairmont Kea Lani has been awarded Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, Top 25 Best Resorts in Hawai’i for the past three years!  Last year they earned the distinction of Travel + Leisure Magazine, The World’s Best Awards, Top 15 in Hawai’i.  Needless to say, I was very excited for my first Fairmont hotel experience.
When you stay as a guest at the Fairmont Kea Lani, several amenities and services are included in the resort fee like self-parking for one vehicle; weekly cultural activities including Hula and 'Ukulele Lessons; one-hour snorkel equipment rental (two sets per suite per day); fitness classes; enhanced keiki amenities; complimentary photo shoot with Pacific Dream Photography; as well as Keiki Lani Kids Club and Hawaiian Canoe Experience when available.
Unfortunately, we didn’t take advantage of any of these amenities, but we did make sure to treat ourselves at the Fairmont Kea Lani’s Willow Stream Spa.  The state of the art spa features both indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, a full salon, and hydrotherapy wellness experiences including steam rooms, Hawaiian rain experience showers, a mud bar, and sauna.  The day spa offers many locally inspired experiences combined with the latest in spa technology.  If you are looking for something special for a group, the Willow Stream Spa has the ability to accommodate 22 guests per hour and is available for private buy-outs.
Much needed pampering at the Willow Stream Spa.
After relaxing at the spa, we took in the beautiful ocean view from our villa that was literally steps away from Polo Beach.  The views were spectacular as we had the option of watching the sunset from either the balcony or in our private courtyard.  As villa guests, we were treated to premium amenities like valet parking, daily breakfast buffet, and an amazing welcome basket that included fresh fruit and baked goods.  What I loved most about the villa was the spacious dining area and the full gourmet kitchen.  The kitchen was fully stocked and with a nespresso machine to boot!  It was equipped with pots and pans, plates and utensils, glassware, and more.  The spacious villas are perfect for families or friends traveling together as the Fairmont Kea Lani has prepared everything for you.
First time ever in a two story villa!

I love this dining area.  Perfect for snacking and Mom talk.

These beds were heavenly!

Watching a gorgeous Maui sunset in the villa's private courtyard complete with plunge pool!
After enjoying the gorgeous sunset, we quickly got ready for our dinner.  The best part?  We had a ride waiting for us!  The Fairmont Kea Lani offers courtesy car transportation within the Wailea area which made it so convenient getting to and from dinner.  I wish all hotels would offer this service!
The next morning, I had to take Nat to the airport and let me tell you it was hard getting out of my pillow-top mattress bed after sleeping like a baby (read: tired mom)!  But it was a quick drive to and from the airport and when I returned, Gem and I had a delicious breakfast at the Kea Lani Restaurant.  We followed that by enjoying some time at the pool with our cabana experience.  We had the cabana for the entire day so we decided to fit in a little activity to work off breakfast.  Gem opted to take a walk along the coastal trail fronting the Wailea resorts while I checked out the fitness center.  The fitness center is open 24 hours for guests age 16 years and older and is equipped with tread mills, ellipticals, and bikes as well as weight machines.  There was also a mat area perfect for yoga and available for use were free weights, exercise balls, and jump ropes.
Our cabana experience was so relaxing I fell asleep a few times!

Fitness center is open 24 hours.
After my workout, I returned to the villa and felt so pampered while using the walk-in stone shower in the oversized marble bathroom.  The bathroom is stocked with Le Labo Rose 31 bath amenities that smelled so wonderful and relaxing.  Soon after that it was time to say goodbye to our gorgeous villa.  While we were able to fit in a lot of activities into a quick 36 hours on Maui, I made sure to relax whenever I could.  Staying at the luxurious Fairmont Kea Lani made that very easy for me and I enjoyed every minute of it.

One last look at the villas!
