Aloha Hilo Day Trip: Restaurant Kenichi

I had asked Sherrie, one of my favorite people who lives in Hilo (and one of the most generous!) to meet us for lunch during our visit, and she suggested we meet at Restaurant Kenichi.  I first went there last year and loved the ramen, so I was eager to go again.

Korean Chicken Salad

Tonkotsu Ramen with Yakibuta

Char Grilled Yuzu-Miso Butterfish

Panko Furikake Salmon
Unfortunately, three of our orders were wrong, including mine!  They weren't huge mistakes, and we didn't send anything back, but they were still mistakes (we did advise our server, who said he wrote the correct information down).

I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen with BBQ Chicken, and ended up getting it with Yakibuta (a friend ordered her ramen with BBQ Beef and got BBQ Chicken; another friend ordered 1 scoop white rice and 1 scoop brown, but got 2 scoops brown).

I ate my ramen anyway with the pork since I like pork, but I should've asked for them to correct the order, because the chicken was so much better (in fact, if I go again I'd order what I did the last time - the Curry Ramen with Cheese and BBQ Chicken).

The Korean Chicken Salad was enormous (I had a piece of the Korean Chicken and it was very tasty!), and the Butterfish was good.

My friend who ordered the Salmon thought it was lacking flavor, and half way through one piece of fish, our server brought out a couple of sauces which he apologized for not bringing out earlier.

Our server was friendly, but it's just too bad the mistakes were many.
