Xtreme 7D Dark Rides is now open at Ala Moana Center (4th floor next to Bubba Gumps and Lens Crafters).
Last year I had a sneak peek of this 7D virtual reality experience at the Ka Makana Ali`i location. Now those visiting Ala Moana Center can try out this really fun, interactive ride / game.
I had a chance to preview the Ala Moana Center location, which seats a dozen, and offers fun prizes for those who can get enough points as they shoot up zombies, werewolves, and other creatures during a fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping adventure.
Equipped with special glasses and a laser gun, guests first take a practice round before going on the actual "journey," which is enhanced with special effects and seats that move and vibrate to mimic free-falling, driving at high speeds, and even crashing (you can view a short clip on our Instagram here).
Little kids had a lot of fun, and although the sight of the zombies and werewolves could be scary to some, everyone had a blast.
While waiting, guests can watch current players and monitor their scores on screens in the waiting area.
