Hawaii Mom Blog: New in Kaimuki - The Surfing Pig

New in Kaimuki - The Surfing Pig

The Surfing Pig, sister restaurant of Kono's, recently opened in Kaimuki.

The Smoking Pig

The Surfing Pig's menu offers a variety of dishes featuring their special 12-hour slow-roasted pork.

Back Ribs

Smokey Cheesy Mac with Porchetta

Mushroom Medley

Flatbread Pizza

Street Tacos - Fish Taco
Street Tacos - Kalua Pig Taco

Surfing Pig Truffle Fries

I was addicted to the Truffle Fries, and I also really enjoyed the Smokey Cheesy Mac with Porchetta - both dishes were elevated comfort food!

The Back Ribs were served with an Asian Slaw and topped with chicharon & herbs.

The housemade Flatbread was topped with garlic oil, bourbon onion, mushrooms, cheese, and Kono's signature pork.

Of the Street Tacos, I preferred the Kalua pork taco.

I thought everything we ordered was yummy.  I would love to try more items from the menu, but I wouldn't hesitate to order any of the above again.

Service was friendly, and although there were still a few hiccups as the restaurant just opened, overall, I was quite impressed with our experience.

Thank you to owner Stan for the White Russian!
