Dinner at Fête

Late last year I dined at Fête for the first time with friends.

Foie Gras Gyoza
Kale Caesar

JP's Risotto

Snapper Special

House-Made Gnocchi

Kalbi-Marinated Bavette

Mango Goodie Goodie
Raspberry-Lychee-Rose Sorbet

Pear Cranberry Crisp

Banana Jam Chocolate Tart

We started off with some delectable Foie Gras Gyoza, which was served with Maui Upcountry poha jam and a soy-balsamic chili reduction.  The Kale Caesar had a nice medley of textures and flavors, and was topped with Mimosa eggs, tomatoes, bacon, and a cheese crisp.

For my entree, I chose the Risotto, which was mixed with pickled shimeji and maitake mushrooms, asparagus, and topped with an onsen egg.  The flavor of the asparagus was a little to strong for my liking, but I thought it was a good dish overall.

We were treated to some refreshing goodie goodie and sorbet, and ordered a delightful Pear Cranberry Crisp, but the dessert I enjoyed the most was the popular Banana Jam Chocolate Tart.  Made from Manoa Ecuadorian 70% ganache, salted caramel, banana jam, and pecan-chocolate crunch, I ate almost the entire dessert myself!

Service was good, and it was a delightful dinner with friends!
