Makapu`u Lighthouse Trail

The last time we went on the Makapu`u Lighthouse Trail, the top of the trail was still being constructed.  We returned a couple of months ago with friends, and were delighted to be treated to some magnificent views along the hike, including at the finished viewing areas.

We arrived at the parking lot just before it opened at 7am, so we were the first in line for a stall (hikers who arrive before the lot gates open simply park on the side of the road).

It was a very chilly morning, and although we didn't see a lot of whales like the last time we were there, it was still a very nice hike.

The kids had a lot of fun, and it took about an hour and a half total for the round-trip, which included lots of stops to take photos.
The Makapu`u Lighthouse Trail is a very fun and easy hike to do with the little ones!
