Kailua Ice Cream

Mokulua Ice Cream has been renamed and rebranded to Kailua Ice Cream.  You'll still get the same friendly service and delicious ice creams, but the biggest difference is that you no longer pay by ounce, and instead, you just pay as you would at most other ice cream shops - by the scoop.

This was a welcome change, because at almost a dollar an ounce when I last went to Mokulua, we dished out quite a few bucks for ice cream with toppings.

In addition to paying by the scoop, you also get unlimited toppings for a set price as well (the sweet employee told us if we run out of toppings while eating our ice cream, we simply go back for more!).

Lilikoi Ice Cream

Chocolate Brownie

OREO

Red Velvet
I opted for a single scoop of Lilikoi in a sugar cone (I love that they offer cones now, because when I went to Mokulua they only served ice cream in cups).  The Lilikoi was amazing - vibrant in taste and color, and quite refreshing!

I really love the new pricing, and the flavors are fantastic.  I'm eager to go back to try their signature Dulce de Leche ice cream (which they were out of that day).
