HMSA's Pau Hana Event with Dr. Mehmet Oz

Last week I had the privilege of attending an HMSA Pau Hana Event at the Park Lane Lounge.

At the event, guests were treated to sips and bites, and learned more about HMSA's partnership with Sharecare, a "digital health and wellness platform."

Guests were able to meet Dr. Mehmet Oz, Co-Founder of Sharecare, who briefly spoke about what Sharecare will be able to offer - a more effective way of delivering health care based on your RealAge results, while engaging users in a variety of ways to help them manage their health, access information, and connect with local providers.

There will be several tools available to users of the Sharecare App (to be available in a couple of months).  For instance, through the app, users will be able to answer questions about specific symptoms, so when they meet with their doctors they are prepared, lessening the possibility of any oversights.  One of the most intriguing features is the ability to tell if you're under stress via nuances in your voice.

Guests also had access to Sharecare's Virtual Reality Experience. This program will enable users to get a better understanding of their health, as they "enter" the human body to explore the brain, the lungs, the eyes - every part of the body (if you've watched The Dr. Oz show, you've seen him use this concept on the show many times to help explain different functions and ailments).

It was very exciting to hear about the partnership between Sharecare and HMSA.

I even had a chance to chat with Dr. Oz, and he really praised moms (and even mentioned mommy bloggers!), knowing how much they take on each and every day.

Stay tuned - the Sharecare app will be available soon!
