Cream Cheese Brownies (aka "Clean Out the Pantry" Brownies)

I love chewy, fudgy brownies, and I love them even more when cream cheese is mixed in or on top.

I didn't think it could get any better than that, until I decided to clean out my pantry, adding peanut butter chips and chocolate chips.

Wow!

It's super easy to make - just take your favorite brownie recipe (or even a brownie mix), make a cream cheese layer, and as soon as they're out of the oven, sprinkle with whatever you can find in your pantry that sounds delicious!

For the cream cheese layer, I added a mixture of 1/3 c sugar, 8 oz cream cheese, softened, 1 egg, and 1/2 t vanilla.

I spread the cream cheese layer onto the brownie batter, which was poured in a 9x13 prepared pan.  I baked for approximately 35 minutes, and as soon as I pulled the brownies out of the oven, I sprinkled on chocolate chips and peanut butter chips.

So yummy!
