Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies

Since I bought a huge block of cream cheese from the local warehouse club store and still had a lot left over, I decided to try and make Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies based on this recipe from Averie Cooks.

They turned out very soft and chewy - just the way I like my chocolate chip cookies. Next time I will try and chill the dough overnight and use a combination of chunks and chips as suggested in the original recipe. If you love soft and chewy cookies, this is definitely a must-try recipe!

Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe credit Averie Cooks)

  • 1/4 c cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 c brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c sugar

  • 2 t vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 2 t cornstarch
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 2 1/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Combine the butter, cream cheese, sugars, egg, vanilla, and mix until creamy.
  • Mix in the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls and roll into balls and flatten.  Refrigerate for at least two hours.
