Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Review

I jumped at the chance to attend the premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice because my 5 year old son is big fan of both super heroes and loves action movies.  I, on the other hand, like to be entertained and Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill aren't exactly hard on the eyes.

My knowledge of Superman and Batman are pretty limited.  I admit I once asked (out loud) if Metropolis was near New York City and I was serious.  While we waited for the movie to start, Cade and I pondered why Superman and Batman were fighting.  In the words of my 5 year old, "I don't get it.  They are both good guys."  Well said, my little man, well said.

But if you are like me and superhero knowledge challenged, don't worry.  The film does a great job setting the foundation of the Batman v Superman challenge.  There are lots of twists and turns in the movie and they are all pretty awesome!  The movie is big on action, well developed in characters and story, and won't disappoint the average movie goer.

As a Mom to a 5 year old however, I did have to cover my son's eyes a couple of times and he did ask me several times if what he was watching was appropriate.  There's also a part where he got scared and had to sit in my lap.  The movie is not short on violence so parents be aware.

We both loved the movie and my favorite part was the introduction of Wonder Woman!  Definitely recommend seeing this movie!

Now showing in theatres everywhere.  Rated PG-13 with a running time of 151 minutes.

Thank you to our sponsor for the complimentary movie tickets.

  1. Haha. Superman and Batman have not always been friends in the comics. Watch out for the DC Movies. They typically aren't kid friendly. Suicide Squad comes out in August and it will not be for kids. The Marvel movies are all Disney and just fine for the little ones! Xxooo
