Laie Point

If you're in the Laie area, a beautiful spot for photo ops is Laie Point.

Kukuihoolua is probably one of the most photographed spots at Laie Point.  It is actually one of five islands that are from the legend of Laniloa, the Mo`o.

Kukuihoolua Island

A plaque on site tells that the peninsula was originally a Mo`o, or giant lizard, who had been killing people.  A warrior named Kana defeated the Mo`o, took its head and chopped it into five pieces that he threw into the ocean.

Mokuauia Island and Kihewamoku Island

Laie Point is also the site of a famous scene from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Remember this scene from Forgetting Sarah Marshall?
There are a lot of people fishing and cliff-diving at Laie Point, as well as people simply taking photos of this breathtaking area.
