Visit Maui: Our Favorite Maui Eats!

On our recent three night trip to Maui, we tried our best to eat at all our Maui favorites, but there was just too much to cover.  Here's a roundup of places we'd go again and again and again.

1.  Krispy Kreme.  This donut super giant may have locations all over the world, but they've got only one in Hawaii and it's located near the airport.  They offer so many sweet varieties, but glazed is still my favorite.  You'll know they're making fresh donuts if the Hot Light is on!

2.  Stillwell's Bakery and CafĂ©.  I have yet to have lunch here and next time I will make it a point since I've heard from several Maui residents that their savory pies are number one.  We always stop here (twice) for their famous cream horns.  It's our last stop before returning to Oahu since we always take home a box for family and friends.

3.  Tasaka Guri Guri Shop.  Don't hate me, but I've never been a fan of the frozen dessert that's kind of a cross between sherbet and ice cream.  But that doesn't stop me from taking the kids there.  They love both strawberry and pineapple flavors.

4.  Sam Sato's.  I finally got to try Sam Sato's famous dry mein.  It was pretty good, but the star of that meal had to be their delicious lima bean manju.  Next visit, I'd like to bring a box of manju home to share.

5.  Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop.  Oh, how I wish we had more time in Maui to eat.  We didn't have time to lunch here like planned, but I couldn't leave Maui without trying one of their specialty pies.  Their chocolate macadamia nut pie did not disappoint.  My favorite dessert of the trip!

6.  Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice.  While I've had better shave ice on Oahu, this certainly is not a place to be missed.  They set their shave ice apart from the rest by using 100% pure cane sugar, premium purees, natural fruit juices and local ingredients.

7.  Slappy Cakes.  This place was just so much fun!  Here's a great place to take the kids to make diy pancakes at the table.  Be sure to order the blueberry pancakes with their house made lemon curd!  Delicious!
