Nico's Pier 38

The last time I went to Nico's Pier 38 it was a small restaurant where people sat outdoors under an awning, so I was eager to dine at the newer, more spacious restaurant.
Furikake Pan Seared Ahi
Pesto Chicken Caesar Salad
Seafood Pasta

Orange Fried Chicken

Truffle Fries
Salted Caramel Vanilla Crunch

Creme Brulee Cheesecake

Lilikoi Meringue Tart

For my dinner I actually ordered two pupus - the chicken and fries.  The chicken was really delicious, with a hint of spiciness from the sweet chili orange sauce.  The fries were good, but it seemed as if all of the truffle oil was at the bottom of the container - the fries tasted "plain" (but still yummy).

Everyone else really enjoyed their meals, and we couldn't end dinner without dessert.

I ordered the Salted Caramel Vanilla Crunch (yes, I still love almost anything with Salted Caramel), which consisted of vanilla cake with caramel, a salted caramel crunch layer, and a custard layer.  I thought it was good - a little on the sweet side, but next time I'd probably order something else.

My friend who ordered the meringue tart said the crust was a little too hard and thick, and she'd probably try and order a different dessert the next time too.

Overall, the food at Nico's was great, and service was too.

I can't believe I waited so long to go back to the new Nico's, and hopefully it won't be that much longer until I dine there again!
