Dinner at Cafe Olive

Nadia treated me to dinner one recent night at Cafe Olive in Wahiawa, a place that I've been wanting to try for a while.

Complimentary Bread

Bruschetta Pomodoro

Penne Arrabiata

Chicken Marsala

Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee

Cheesecake
I thought the Bruschetta, topped with tomatoes, feta, basil, and olive oil, was tasty, but lacked the typical crunch of most bruschettas.

I ordered the Chicken Marsala, and it turned out to be more like chicken cutlet - a breaded piece of chicken with brown gravy and mushrooms.  Thankfully, I love chicken cutlet, but I was a bit disappointed that the dish didn't fully resemble or taste like chicken marsala.

Fortunately, I really enjoyed the desserts.  The creme brulee had a nice crunchy caramel layer which contrasted nicely to the creamy custard.  The New York Style Cheesecake was rich and delicious!

Service was great, and overall I had a really nice dinner.

I'm glad I finally got to try Cafe Olive.

Thank you, Nadia, for dinner!
