Meg's Drive-In

Chicken katsu is a local favorite and is on most "plate lunch" menus.  Everyone makes theirs slightly different, either in the breading or the katsu dipping sauce.  Growing up, my go-to places for chicken katsu were L&L Drive Inn, and Grace's Inn.  To this day I still go to those places for chicken katsu, and whenever I post a pic of my chicken katsu, a few of my friends on social media post comments telling me that the chicken katsu at Meg's Drive-In is THE BEST.

I attempted to try Megs' chicken katsu several times, and every time I never made it through the doors because I couldn't find parking. They have a few stalls in front of the restaurant, otherwise you have to park on the street, and on weekdays, street parking is very scarce in this area.  But on this day, I got lucky and found a space in the lot, so even though I had brought home lunch, I stopped to buy a plate of chicken katsu.

Did it live up to the hype? Most certainly.  The chicken katsu was ultra-crispy and moist.  How did I live on this island for so long and not know that one of the island's best chicken katsu is here at Meg's?
