I've been wanting to try Ray's Cafe for a while now because I heard they have great fried chicken, and I finally had a chance to see for myself how good the chicken is.

Mini Chicken Plate - Gravy All Over

I ordered the Mini Chicken Plate, which comes with two pieces of fried chicken, macaroni salad, and rice - all for just $4.45 (it was cheaper than the hot cakes!). I also ordered a side of gravy after seeing people being served dishes smothered in gravy, and I proceeded to pour the gravy all over my plate.

The food was so delicious! The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, and the meat was tender and tasty. The gravy was delicious too, and it just made the entire dish that much better.

My son ordered the hot cakes, and amazingly he ate nearly the entire plate of hot cakes!

My husband ordered the French Toast Sandwich, which was served "deconstructed," and he said everything was good.

Ray's Cafe is a hole-in-the-wall eatery in Kalihi, with friendly service, and cheap and delicious eats.
