Try This Mochi Waffle Mix!

I've noticed the mochi waffles post has garnered a lot of attention lately, so I wanted to share this mochi waffles mix I found at Don Quiote.  It's called Maffles and it's made in Hawaii.

The mix is predominantly mochiko as you will see by the fine cloud of dust that will encompass everything when you empty the bag.  Follow the directions on the bag by adding milk, oil, and an egg.

Mix for a minute and your doughy goodness will look like this.

Use an ice cream scooper or spatula and portion into rounds and roll in granulated sugar.  This gives the waffles a sweet caramelized coating. My daughter loves helping me out with this step.

Next heat up your waffle iron and cook for 2 minutes. I like to do one at a time so they come out looking cute. I've heard you can also add fruit into the mix. Haven't tried that yet but will soon.  Enjoy  the mochi chewiness of these waffles!
