I found ChadLou's while searching for a dessert place in the Kailua area, but I was pleasantly surprised that they are not only a coffee house, but they serve ice cream sandwiches, pastries and bagel sandwiches too.
I brought my 3 year old here to fuel up after the dinosaur exhibit at Windward Mall and although the seating has that "lived in" feel, it was nice not to have to worry that he was going to ruin the furniture. While we waited for our food and drinks, we borrowed a couple of children's books from the book shelves. That made the waiting fun.
Our bagel sandwich was HUGE and delicious. They were out of a couple of ingredients so the server worked with me on creating a sandwich, which was awesome. Being that I am in love with any latte art, I got a hot vanilla latte, but when I saw their presentation of an iced coffee in the mason jar, I wished I had gotten one. So cute!
We finished off our late lunch with 2 ice cream sandwiches that we could customize with our choice of cookies and ice cream. They look like regular ice cream sandwiches but the cookies are baked fresh and they are just so scrumptious! Definitely recommend!
Mommies and Daddies with young children will appreciate that ChadLou's has parking in the back and a bathroom too.
