Sushi Bay

Since we were in the Kapolei area recently, we decided to have lunch at Sushi Bay.  We arrived at 11:00am, and the restaurant had opened at 10:30am.  There were several parties on the sign-in sheet ahead of us, so we decided to wait for seats.

While waiting we saw A LOT of people picking up take-out orders, and more and more people came to put their name on the sheet for seating.

I was very tempted to leave after 30 minutes, but after seeing how many people patiently waited for their name to be called, and the numerous people picking up take-out orders, I thought this place must be really good, so we continued to wait.

Finally, after a total of approximately 45 minutes, we were seated, and we couldn't wait to eat!
Chicken Don

Spicy Bomb

Keiki Bowl

Gyoza

Onion Salmon

Shrimp Shumai

Negitoro

Spicy Tuna

Philly Roll
Now I know why the waits are long and the restaurant is continuously packed with patrons picking up orders - the food is good and very reasonably-priced!

I had the Chicken Don, and shared the Gyoza and Shrimp Shumai with my son.  Everything was delicious!  My son also had the Keiki Bowl, and he ate everything in it except for the crab.

My husband had the Philly Roll, Spicy Tuna, Onion Salmon, and Spicy Bomb, and he really enjoyed everything, with the exception of the Philly Roll, which he thought was just "okay."

Because it was so busy, it did take a while for our orders to be taken or served (you can grab items off the sushi conveyor belt, but it seemed like it was a little hard for the staff to keep up with all the orders while adding to the conveyor belt at times).

However, service was very friendly and it was obvious the staff was working very hard to service all of the customers.

I thought it was definitely worth the wait to eat at Sushi Bay, but next time I'd try and get there really early so hopefully I wouldn't need to wait that long to get seated again.
