Your Kitchen

When driving to Your Kitchen for the first time, don't drive too fast, otherwise you'll drive right past it. It's located in the middle of a residential area on 10th Avenue in Kaimuki, next to another popular hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

There isn't much of a seating area inside the restaurant, so most people will sit outside on the steps. I found this to be one of the things I liked about eating here. It's the perfect place to have a relaxing lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

The kitchen is small and it'll take a while for your order to be called, so in the mean time, order and enjoy a bowl of shave ice while you're waiting. I fell in love with their strawberry and milk shave ice.

I ordered the mini beef steak bowl ($5.75). It came with 5 slices of medium-rare grilled rib-eye steak glazed with a teriyaki sauce, over perfectly cooked Japanese rice, topped with thin fried potato slices.

The hubby devoured the regular-sized bowl of their Japanese locomoco ($7.26).

I think I'll be spending many more lazy Sunday afternoons on the steps of Your Kitchen.
