Souvaly Thai Cuisine Hawaii

For no specific reason, I've been eating a lot of Thai food lately. Last night I met up with @sagemom for dinner, and yes, we met at a Thai restaurant in Pearl City called Souvaly.

The service was good, the portions were a little on the smaller side, and the taste was, well, average.

The angel wings (stuffed chicken wings) were stuffed nicely with veggies, rice noodles and chicken, but there was a weird black stringy ingredient that didn't sit well with my taste buds.

The pad thai was a little too moist and mushy, and the chicken was almost like a garnish.

The spring rolls were crispy and delicious and the best part of the meal.

For dessert we asked the waiter what the most popular dessert on the menu was, and he said either the mango or the crispy banana. But, they were out if mangos so we had to settle for he crispy banana. It was a good choice, but I wish there was more of it. I took a picture of the entire plate so that you get an idea of how small it was. The presentation just emphasized the small-ness.

  1. I've been there too and really enjoyed it. You've now convinced me to go back again.
