Sarento's Top of the "I"

This year, for our annual Christmas dinner, it was girls only (minus @incirclepets) at Sarento's Top of the "I."

It was my first time there, and I didn't hear much about the restaurant beforehand, so I didn't know what to expect.

We started off with some complimentary bread (sorry, no photo). There were two types, along with some oil and vinegar.

There was only one chicken dish--Pollo Paesano, so that's what I ordered.

Our reservations were for 5:30pm, but because of traffic (it was the day before the Honolulu Marathon), people (including myself) arrived a little late. That, combined with the rather slow service, resulted in us getting our meals after 7:00pm!

But finally, all of our meals arrived, and it was time to dig in!

The Pollo Paesano, which included chicken, pasta, meatballs, mushrooms, and peppers, wasn't that great. It cost $27, and I was quite disappointed. It was pretty bland.

These are the other girls' dinners--I don't remember what they all ordered, but I know several of them ordered the Opakapaka, which was the fresh catch of the day:

I had to leave early, so I'm not sure if the girls ordered dessert.

Although the service was friendly, there were some service mishaps.

And despite my not-so-good dinner, the view and the ambiance was truly outstanding.

The best part of all? Spending much needed girl-time with some of the best girlfriends in the world!

  1. Well that's too bad that you spend that kind of money and it was bland. It sure does look good I must say :)
