About an hour away from Tokyo (depending on which part of Tokyo you are in) is Kawagoe in the Saitama prefecture. Known as Little Edo, this city is a step back in time, allowing visitors a chance to walk through the streets and gaze at buildings with ancient architecture and eat a number of delicacies (I have never seen so many sweet shops in one place as I did in Kawagoe).

Despite the number of ice cream and sweet shops, I only ate one thing - a Shoyu and Vanilla Ice Cream. The Shoyu flavor was very light, but you could taste the saltiness.
Other eats:
There was even a Starbucks!
We walked through Kashiya Yokocho (Penny Candy Lane), which had a number of shops selling food, snacks, souvenirs, and more.
We also visited a few shrines:
It was nice to get a glimpse back in time.
