Visit Osaka: Ebisu Tower Donki Ferris Wheel

We were exploring Dotonbori when we decided to take a ride on the Ebisu Tower Donki Ferris Wheel, which is the world's first oval ferris wheel, according to the website.

The ride is 15 minutes long, and you travel 10 meters a minute (it was 1000 yen / person when we visited).

There was a bit of a line to get onto the gondola, but it was just a 10-minute wait.  While waiting, one person per gondola can spin a bingo-like contraption that spits out a ball which equates to a prize (we all ended up with candies).  There are also lots of posters with trivia about Donki which helps to pass the time.

Each gondola can fit up to 4 people.  Once seated, your gondola rotates horizontally so you can get a view of the busy scene below.

You do get up quite high, so those with a fear of heights may not enjoy it, but it was a nice way to rest our feet while taking in the views!

And you can get some shopping done at Donki after the ride!
