After our summer trip in Italy, we planned to spend a few days in New York before heading home. In anticipation, my husband "researched" (watched youtube travel videos) the best pizza in New York and decided on Grimaldi's. I mentioned this at dinner to my friend, a long time New York resident, and she quietly remarked that tourists do like Grimaldi's, but she was going to send us to real pizza at L'industrie Pizzeria.
Open daily from 12pm, we got there about 25 minutes before opening which was lucky for us. Within minutes we became first in a very long line and was able to snag the only table when they opened their doors. We tried their classic New York slices of margherita, spicy salami, and white pizza. All pizzas are garnished with fresh basil, grated grana padano, and EVOO. The pizza was delicious and we quickly understood why people continuously got in line.
L'Industrie has two locations: Williamsburg, Brooklyn and West Village, New York. Definitely worth the wait!
