Chocolate + Vanilla Bakery

It's been a while since I've picked up treats from Chocolate + Vanilla, a small dessert shop located in Kaimuki. When they first opened, they were known for cupcakes, macarons, and fudgy brownies. I didn't see any of those items on a recent visit to their bakery. Instead, their display case was filled different flavors of scones, bread pudding, and mochi.

I couldn't resist buying an almond cookie scone, because I absolutely love almond cookies, and anything almond-flavored. It normally comes with a red dot in the middle (like an almond cookie) .. maybe they ran out of red dye on this particular day.

I also picked up a couple of containers of butter mochi for myself and a friend - guava and ube flavors.

Their butter mochi is so soft and chewy!

Each pack comes with four pieces. It's a bit pricey at $7.99, but you won't be disappointed with the quality and taste.

Flavors for all of their items (bread pudding, butter mochi, creme brulee, and even savory sandwiches, changes daily. Follow on Instagram @chocolateandvanilla808 to see what's baking!

Closed on Mondays.
