Visit California: Uno Tre Otto

While in Claremont, our host took us to dinner at Uno Tre Otto, a small, but very busy Italian eatery that offers a menu of housemade pastas and fresh, local ingredients.

We ordered a variety of appetizers and pastas (the menu constantly changes based on the season and availability of ingredients).

I enjoyed the octopus, which was so tender, and the rigatoni, which was full of robust flavors.
Insalata di Polpo

Rigatoni alla Bolognese

Fettunta
The Fettunta consisted of a grilled sourdough topped with a carrot top, kale, and basil pesto, arugula, lemon vinaigrette, and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Freshly Baked Bread & Butter

I love a good bread & butter starter, and the Creme Bakery ciabatta with the house cultured butter was simple, but divine.

Charred Carrots
The Charred Carrots were very tasty.  They were served with hazelnuts, arugula, honey and aleppo pepper vinaigrette, and blue cheese.

Vegetable Cruda

Bistecca

Our host knows the Uno Tre Otto well, so we got treated to some excellent steak.

The charming Uno Tre Otto is a lovely place for an Italian meal!
