Visit Alabama: Gator Boardwalk

While driving through Alabama, I Google Mapped "attractions near me," and stumbled upon the Gator Boardwalk.

We happened to be really close, so we made an impromptu stop, which turned out to be a quick little boardwalk hike.

Once we parked in the lot, I noticed a bunch of people looking over a bridge, so I figured they must see an alligator.

And I was right!

An alligator had its head slightly above the water.  If people weren't already there watching it, I don't know if I would have even noticed it.

We then explored some of the boardwalk that traversed along D'Olive Creek and under freeways.

We could've kept going on the trails, but since we were short on time, we decided to turn around and head back to the car so we could continue our road trip.  It was still nice to get outdoors and stretch our legs.

If you happen to be in the area, stop by the Gator Boardwalk and you may see some gators!
