Visit Hilo: Hilo Grinds

After landing in Hilo one day, we picked up lunch from Hilo Grinds.

They offer a limited selection of grab-and-go eats (manapua, sandwiches, hot dogs, bentos), as well as daily specials.
Pastrami Sandwich
I got a Pastrami Sandwich, which was very reasonably-priced, although basic.
Laulau and Kalua Pork Combo

My friend got a Laulau and Kalua Pork Combo, which was a special for the day.  The portion size was small for what he paid, and although he said the food was underseasoned, he appreciated the effort that went into making the food.
I loved that the shop offered all sorts of locally-made goods, as well as other convenience store snacks (like Japanese ice cream!).  I bought a few Hawai`i made cookies to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The employees working were also very friendly!

If you're looking for food or snacks on the go, most at reasonable prices, check out Hilo Grinds!
