Visit Hilo: Papa`a Palaoa Bakery

We were looking for some locally-baked bread, so we decided to visit Papa`a Palaoa Bakery.

They offer a variety of breads and other baked goods, but I was really interested in the cookies, since I just love cookies and buy them just about everywhere I go.

I bought some Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies for the fam, and I thought they were just okay.  I personally thought the texture was off (not soft enough to be chewy, and not hard enough to be crispy), and it tasted like it needed just a little more sugar.  My kids, however, ate them up!

I did buy a bag of Peanut Butter Cookies, however, and a friend devoured nearly the entire bag.

Papa`a Palaoa offers an array of other types of sweets, however, and I wouldn't hesitate to try something else next time!
