Visit Hawai`i Island: Island Greens

I wanted something healthy for lunch, so I went to Island Greens in the Queens Marketplace food court.

Aina Bowl

I ended up getting the Aina Bowl, which was a warm bowl of wild rice, miso-roasted taro, avocado, purple sweet potato, pineapple, local tomato, toasted coconut, edamame, green onion, shredded carrot, and white balsamic dressing.

It was a beautiful bowl with vibrant produce, however together, the ingredients just did not mesh well (pineapple with miso-roasted taro? Even my Chef friend refused to try it!).  I think they simply went with the "Aina" theme, but didn't really think through the flavors.

I would definitely order a different salad or bowl if I visit Island Greens again.
