The Munchie Machine has been on my 'to-try' list for a long time. It's hard for me to get to them since they are only open Monday - Friday and they're out in Mapunapuna (which is a ways from my work place). But today I had to pick up a few items at Fisher Hawaii in Mapunapuna during my lunch break, and since the Munchie Machine is right in front of Fisher, I finally got the chance to check out their smash burgers!
They sell two things here - burgers and fries, yet deciding on what to order is not as easy as it seems - because of the variations on the menu (single, double, triple, grilled cheese with crispy fries inside, grilled cheese + crispy fries + single patty, etc.). Yes, they actually have a grilled cheese with crispy fries and a burger all in one!
Since I had to return to work, I opted for a 'light' lunch consisting of the Dooby Fries (crispy shoestring fries) and a Scrappy Burger (single patty) Deluxe (add lettuce, tomato and onion).
The burger was AMAZING! The burger patty, Teri sauce, and 'DAB' sauce are all homemade. Warning - have lots of napkins on hand because this is a messy burger!
The fries were too crispy IMHO - I'm wondering if I would have been better off ordering the waffle fries or Teri fries. But I would definitely come back for the burgers, and maybe next time I'll go for the Scooby (double) Deluxe and pass on the fries.
