Visit Austin: Zookeeper Exotics

On a free day in Austin, we asked the kids to each pick a place they wanted to go to.  One of my kids said "pet store," so we ended up going to Zookeeper Exotics.

We saw all sorts of creatures we would not see in pet stores back in Hawai`i.  From tarantulas to humungous lizards, Zookeeper Exotics had a multitude of exotic pets on display and for sale.

They had sea snails, snakes, scorpions, and even a sloth (not all animals were for sale)!

It was pretty amazing how expensive so many of the creatures were, which is not so surprising, since they are "exotic," after all.

It was really neat to see what kinds of animals (and creepy-crawlies) could be found and bought in Texas!
