Visit Texas: The Salt Lick BBQ

My jetsetter friend, @hasian_val, messaged me while in Texas to tell me I should visit The Salt Lick BBQ - a restaurant with Kaua`i roots!

Even though there was a location near where we were staying in Round Rock, I decided to go to the original location in Driftwood.

Sausage and Turkey Combo

Thurman's Choice

Sausage Small Plate

Pulled Pork Sandwich

Pulled Pork with Sausage

I had the Turkey and Sausage combo.  Everything was delicious!  The turkey and sausage had a nice smokiness to it, and everything was juicy and tender.  All plates come with beans, coleslaw, and potato salad.  It is such a hearty meal!

Thurman's Choice consisted of Brisket, Pork Ribs, and Sausage.

Small plates are available for kids under 10 and adults over 65.

We all devoured our dishes.

I initially decided against dessert because I was stuffed, then knew I would regret it if I didn't get any.

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Peach Cobbler

I ordered two popular Texas BBQ staples - Peach Cobbler and Chocolate Pecan Pie (both with ice cream, of course).

The huge restaurant was packed, but tables turned over quickly.  Service was great, and I'm glad Val recommended The Salt Lick BBQ.  Thanks, Val!
