Visit Island of Hawai`i: Pāpaʻaloa Country Store and Cafe

I first heard about Pāpaʻaloa Country Store and Cafe when I met someone who baked there.  My ears perked up when I heard the word "bakery," so I knew I had to visit the moment I had a chance!

That moment was just recently, as I was in the area for work, so I ordered lunch, and of course I ordered a bunch of desserts!

Mahi Sandwich
My friend ordered the Mahi Sandwich, and said it was okay, but not seasoned well enough.

Taro Burger

I ordered the Taro Burger, which I thought was quite satisfying, but it had a very unusual starchy taste, unlike any I've tasted in other taro burgers I've tried.

Gravy Fries

The Gravy Fries was a generous serving, but next time I'll request to have the gravy on the side.

Blueberry Cheesecake

Peanut Butter Bomb, Cream Puff, Tiramisu Eclair

I loved the Peanut Butter Bombs (chocolate + peanut butter is one of the best combos ever!), and the Cream Puffs (filled with chocolate and topped with chantilly) - I wish ordered more than just two of each.  I didn't try the Tiramisu Eclair since I'm not a fan of Tiramisu (I ordered it for my friend who likes Tiramisu).

The Blueberry Cheesecake had a great blueberry flavor. You could see they didn't skimp on the blueberries.
