"Taste Our Love For Hawaii" Episode 2 Premieres on KHON2 February 6

Last night I attended a screening of Hashi Media's Taste Our Love for Hawai`i: Episode 2 In and On the Ocean, featuring former professional surfer turned professional chef, Raphael Lunetta of Lunetta in Santa Monica, California.

I've seen Chef Raphael at numerous Hawai`i Food & Wine Festival Events, and it was great to see him onscreen, meeting with locals and getting more insight into everything from the fish auction to Hawai`i ingredients.

The 30-minute episode gave a brief, but meaningful glimpse into what makes Hawai`i so special - the food, the people, the culture, the history. I learned so much myself about what goes on at the Honolulu Fish Auction (it's the only fish auction between Tokyo and Maine!), as well as the philosophy of 'Āina Momona, which cultural practitioner and waterman, Tom Pōhaku Stone, explained as the bounty of food provide to us by the land that we live on.

I'm already looking forward to future episodes!

“Taste Our Love For Hawai‘i, Episode 2: In and On the Ocean” will air on KHON2 and KHON2 livestream on February 6, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. HST. The episode will be rebroadcasted on February 9, 2022, on Hawai‘i’s CW at 6:30 P.M. HST and on February 12, 2022, on KHII at 7:00 P.M. HST. “Taste Our Love For Hawai‘i” will also be available on the Hashi Life YouTube channel following the broadcasts.
