Visit Hilo: Kusano Sushi

I waited for nearly a year for Kusano Sushi to open up for orders, and a couple of months ago I finally got my hands on an omakase set, which included:

  • Akami
  • Chutoro
  • Otoro
  • Sake
  • Aburi Sake
  • Shima Aji
  • Hirame
  • Itoyori
  • Kinmedai
  • Tachiuo
  • Sanma
  • Masaba
  • A5 Wagyu
  • (the Tamago was accidentally omitted, we did get some extra Negitoro).
A handy index is included with the omakase, so you know exactly what you're eating.

Although pricey, you get a set of expertly executed sushi.  The omakase set is like a jewel box of exquisitely crafted gems - some topped with gold flakes, tobiko, or salt.

The kinmedai and hirame were faves, but they were all delish.

Follow Kusano Sushi on Instagram to see when he'll be doing future drops, or when he has extras!
